2015 Highlights

I have not been great at keeping my blog updated but it has been a wonderful year for both my photography and brand development. This year saw my photography make it onto two covers and many individual images and features published in various magazines and newspapers. It also saw the launch of Rionore & Co jewellery brand. This has been a huge project with an exciting future. I also travelled and met with many interesting people for the renowned jewellery designer Rudolf Heltzel whom I represent. Representing Rudolf is a constant joy and honour so there has been lots of highlights with this throughout the year. I have a varied work life which for the most part is my whole life and I enjoy every minute.

Some memorable highlights of 2015; the release of superkul inc.'s architecture book 'Rain, Gravity, Heat, Cold'. My light study photographs made the cover and my photography features on many internal spreads too. It is a beautiful book which I was involved with before returning to live in Ireland, you can read more and see more images here.

A recent highlight, I got the cover story of the Sunday Business Post magazine for fine art jeweller Rudolf Heltzel and one of my photographs graced the cover. There was a wonderful 5 page feature article inside on Rudolf Heltzel written by Catherine Murphy. Thank you to Catherine, Fiona Ness, the editor and Ruth O'Connor too for your work on this. Very exciting for all involved, Rudolf himself, his family, myself and the team. Not to mention the talented and generous bunch involved in the photoshoot. Not a bad way to close out the year!

This year I have also been working with Image Interiors & Living magazine shooting stunning Irish homes. I thoroughly enjoy my work for this gorgeous magazine, always an enjoyable day of shooting surrounded by fabulous architecture, interior design and lovely people. As always I enjoy my editing process, sending off the final images which results in a lovely feature story in the bi-monthly magazine.

Here's hoping for an even more exciting 2016 full of photography and success for the brands I represent! Keep an eye out for Rionore & Co, 2016 should be an exciting first year for this beautiful jewellery brand.

Rain, Gravity, Heat, Cold - a book celebrating the first ten years of superkül architects

Delighted to finally share a wonderful project I was a part of.
The launch of Rain, Gravity, Heat, Cold, a book celebrating the first ten years of superkül, one of Canada’s most progressive architectural firms. The result a beautiful, hand-bound volume that is graced with special silver varnishes and silk-screening, French-folded interior papers and subtle transitions of colour that mirror superkül’s processes. For graphic designers and architects this book is a perfect collaboration of design minds.
As well as being part of the team in the beginning before I returned to Ireland many of my photos are throughout the book as well as on the cover which is a light study reflecting superkül's unique philosophy and process. “Instead of showing a house Superkül has developed on the cover, we showed light and how form affects light.” Blok Design
You can read more about the collaboration between Blok Design and superkül here http://www.appliedartsmag.com/thebrief_details/… and it can be purchased through amazon.

Rustic Chic English Wedding

A long overdue post on my gorgeous cousin's wedding in South Farm, Royston in July. While I was a guest first I did my best to capture the day. It was a stunning wedding, simply effortless. Sophisticated country chic at its best. I expected nothing less from Siobhan, who takes everything in her stride while maintaining impeccable taste every step of the way. Siobhan originally from County Clare is living in London for the past 10 years working as a senior merchandiser for Dune. She met her wonderful husband in 2010 and he proposed two years later in Bruge.

This wedding was the most relaxed happy wedding I have ever been to, the sun was shining and the laid back energy of the couple transferred to the guests, everyone was at ease and thoroughly enjoyed themselves the entire day.

Siobhan wore an elegant Charlie Brear Dress which fit like a glove on her slender figure.

Great Western Greenway

I cycled the Great Western Greenway a few weekends ago and really enjoyed the whole experience. I had never been to Westport. It is a picturesque and lively town. We rented bikes from Clew Bay bike hire. The lovely Fergal drove us to Achill and we cycled the 42 km back into Westport. If you are relatively fit this cycle is a breeze. Beautiful scenery and friendly interaction with locals and fellow cyclists along the way. Pop into Yvonne's cottage for a scone and tea break.

I must mention a few places in Westport to visit; the Willow Cafe Tea Room. Proper baking and quaint surroundings. The lemon drizzle is the best I have ever had. The Helm at the quays is a must for a pint or if you can get a table for dinner. Thanks to Shane who made our weekend and squeezed us in without a booking. Of the pubs in the town I was in McGings was my favourite. Matt Molloy's is a great spot too, you might be surrounded by numerous hen and stag parties though. Also recommend a visit to the grounds of the beautiful and grand Westport House.

Some of my photos of the stunning Mayo countryside along the Great Western Greenway.
